Fourth Cape was created by founder and Managing Director Charles Darbyshire. Leaning on a wealth of experience from being part of the team that planned and built Ellen MacArthur’s round the world record-breaking trimaran, and the Route du Rhum winning IMOCA60 to creating and directing the Artemis Offshore Academy.
His event experience extends to being part of the team that rescued The Transat, created the Barcelona World Race and the groundbreaking stadium sailing event – The Extreme Sailing Series. The same team was responsible for the creation of Oman Sail, an innovative national sports programme.
Charles’ circumnavigation was as part of the first big Oman Sail project – a record attempt to sail non-stop around the world from Oman, and in doing so, enable one of the Omani team to be the first-ever Arab sailor to complete the non-stop ‘lap’ – in doing so, creating a national hero.
During this circumnavigation, Charles passed the three great capes:
> Cape Leeuwin, (The most south-westerly mainland point of Australia)
> The infamous, Cape Horn, (The most southerly point of South America)
> The Cape of Good Hope.

IRC 52 E-BAR
The preset function is good and they have really seen the improvement in acceleration when they adjust it. An example is last week they were reaching into a mark and were set at 7 deg I think then they had to soak around the island for a few minutes. Apparently, they were sluggish then the straightened the toe and the change was significant. The owner was driving and was blown away that the wrong setting could make such a difference. Money well spent!
I know it took a long time from chatting to racing....... but the product, the communication with you and ease of install really is a credit to you guys.
I think these are a must have for all twin rudder boats!!!
