SEAVENTURES SUPER SERIES LAUNCHES IN THE UK

In recent seasons numbers have dwindled for certain events across the UK – one fleet bucking this trend is the shorthanded division with the Double-Handed class of the Rolex Fastnet Race numbering more than 100 boats.

Looking to further support the short-handed scene – Sea Ventures UK, spearheaded by avid single and double handed veteran Nigel Colley is backing a new series of races this autumn taking place across the Solent.

“Following on from the success of the Sun Fast Cup and the Spring Cup many of my fellow competitors have been looking for more shorthanded events to compete in” Nigel remarked “Working in tandem with experienced sports marketing company Fourth Cape, the super series works to run racing across the Solent with an important focus on the social aspect for teams of 4 crew for IRC boats ranging from 0.998 up to 1.090”

The Sea Ventures Super series will be open to all boats – not just purely the reserve of the Jeanneau Sun Fast fleet – IRC rated boats will be welcome to come and join the fun with the likes of the JPK 1010s, 1030s, J Boats, Farr X2 and other short handed boats.

This autumn will see the first series of races with four rounds/weekends of racing taking place around the Solent with the fleet being based out of a different location each weekend: Cowes, Yarmouth, Lymington and Hamble will all host the fleet.

Racing will feature round the cans courses in the Solent and when based in the Western Solent the courses will extend out into Christchurch Bay.

Starting in the central Solent on a Saturday morning and finishing in the Central Solent on the Sunday
